Whistle Blowing

Any adult or young person with concerns about an adult in a position of trust in football can whistle blow by contacting The FA Safeguarding Team, writing to The FA Case Manager at The Football Association, Wembley Stadium, PO Box 1966, London SW1P 9EQ, emailing Safeguarding@TheFA.com, or going directly to the Police, Children's Social Care, or the NSPCC.

A safe environment for every child

BRS acknowledges its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of every child and young person entrusted to its care. We are committed to providing a safe environment for all members and subscribe to The FA's Safeguarding Children – Policy and Procedures.

Enjoyable and protected participation

Every child or young person who plays or participates in football should be able to take part in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from poor practice and abuse.

Safer recruitment

We ensure that all staff members and volunteers over the age of 14 are subject to a Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Barring List Check in line with current FA policy and regulations before they start work at BRS.

Trained Welfare Officer

BRS has appointed a Club Welfare Officer in line with The FA's role profile, who has completed the Safeguarding Children and Welfare Officers Workshop. They are the first point of contact for welfare concerns, liaise with the County FA Welfare Officer, and raise awareness of Respect, poor practice, and abuse.

Reporting a Concern

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. If you are worried about a child, it is important that you report your concerns — no action is not an option.
